Applying the Colored Frames in Paintshop Pro 5

1. Open an frame file from the frames sub folder in PSP.

2. Open a photo file.

3. Activate the frame window and choose Resize from the Image menu and enter the pixel size of the photo file to adapt the frame to the size of the photo.

4. Press <Ctl + A> to select the whole frame and press <Ctl + C> to copy it to the clipboard.

5. Switch to the other photo window and press <Ctl + L> to paste the frame as a layer into the photo.

6a. Select the Magic Wand tool from the tool bar and click with it on the inner white area. Use Modify | Feather from the Selections menu, if you want to smooth the selection. And finally press the <Del> key.

6b. Select Properties from the Layers menu. Move the upper right triangle of the first grey scaled bar ("this layer is") a bit to the left until the inner white area of the frame disappears.

7. If you like, you can flatten the image by selecting Merge | Merge All (Flatten) from the Layers menu.
